Biographie

was apprenticed to J.B.N. Delure in the Founders' Corporation 17 January 1731 becoming free on 29 July 1737 (1). In 1744 he made a new Paris standard aune (ell) (2). His signature appears on the meridian rings for a pair of Vaugondy's 1751. globes (3), as on the universal equinoctial dial illustrated by Bedos de Celle (plate 28) in 1760. A quadrant, two surveying instruments, and a trigon of signs by him are all dated (3). J.B. Oudry was apprenticed to him in 1739.
