Biographie
The son, and successor of Kruines (qv), he practised as an optician. At the 1834 exhibition he displayed some effective, and commercially viable, microscopes (1), and in 1837 presented a new design for a camera lucida to the Académie des Sciences (2). At the 1839 exhibition he showed a range of drawing and surveying instruments (3). A miniature set of drawing instruments (4), is likely to be by him and to date from c. 1840. A diamond-shaped mural barometer combined with a lyre-shaped thermometer is also known (5).
