Biographie
If it was not J.-F. Richer, then it is likely to have been Richer frères who manufactured the calculateur graphite de Charles Frédéric Gelinsky (1771-1837), chef de cadrastre à Angers and later (after 1830) at Digne. The instrument allowed the surface area of an irregular figure to be determined graphically by reducing it to a simpler form such as a triangle, the construction of the instrument was based on the properties of parallels (1).
