A company established by L. Huet as successor to Clermont-Huet (qv). The company specialised in the making of binoculars, telescopes and, from about the turn of the century, precision optics in general 'jumelles Stéréo-prismatique..., goniomètres, lunettes de pointage, périscopes , etc.'. Their prismatic binoculars, designed by Porro and first produced in 1857 had little success at the time despite being shown in the 1867 Paris exhibition. Their manufacture was taken up again by Huet in the 1890's. They also made telemetres, the 'sextant-télémètre' designed by Capitaine Aubry and a cine-projector le 'Diocinescope'.1 The company was subsequently taken over , in 1925, by the Société Générale d'Optique SGO, devenant SGO -HUET.
