Biographie
Created by a group of researchers closely related with the Institut d’Optique founded at Paris in 1926 : Charles Fabry, Henri Chrétien, Georges Guadet et André Bayle, the company was concentrated on astronomical optics and the realisation of large dimension mirrors. Their instruments are to be found at the Observatory of Haute Provence ( Pic du Midi), and at the ’ESO, Chili.


Activity at the REOSC was seriously affected by the end of French nuclear trials after 1970. It was absorbed in 1978 by the SFIM itself fused with the MTO in 1992, Matra optique in 1996 to become a the optical branch of the group SAGEM SAFRAN in 2012.
