Biographie
made a very fine pictorial ivory diptych dial (1), a combined ivory diptych and nocturnal in the Adler Planetarium, Chicago since at least 1912 (2), and at least two other instruments by him are known (3). [Query related to Jean Asselin ‘graveur mal converty’ (Roole…, Ms Mél Colbert 6 f 227v) and/or to the Rouen clockmakers of this name or to the Francis & Stephen clockmakers & engravers who emigrated to London 1687, and/or to l’Abbé David Asseline, author of Les Antiquitez et chroniques de la Ville de Dieppe… ed Michel Hardsy, Guérillon et l’Abb& Sauvage, Dieppe, 2 vols, 1874].
