Optician who who in 1903 succeeded F. Gueugnon in the Maison Boulade, founded in 1856. Following the example of Boulade who had developed an electric arc with a fixed. luminous point for the projectors of the cinématographe Lumière, Gambs specialized in cinema apparatus alongside his more general optical trade.
