Biographie
-
A protestant clock-maker at Blois, son of a clock-maker of the same name (1572- before 1634), Chesnon was apprenticed to his brother-in-law, Abel Maupas. He established his own workshop in Blois before 1639 and married Sarah Villamoine in 1642. Their son Pierre, also a clock-maker, emigrated to Amsterdam in 16861. Several portable pocket dials of his production have survived as well as watches2.
