Biographie

A capucin friar whose civil name was Jean Marie Dumurgier, Arsène was attached to the Capucin monastery at Aix-les-Bains where the treatises on gnomonics by Bullant and Gabriel Trichet that he used are conserved. A star-shaped dial on the edge of the lake at Annecy, a dial at Rumilly and the restoration of a dial at Hautecombe were effected by him and unsigned dials at Samoens and Sallanches have been atributed to him.1
