Biographie

A mechanician-constructor, printer and publisher, he developed with Claude Marie François a cylinder lithographic press which was patented in 1827. He subsequently developed it specifically for the printing of maps. In 1833 he produced an inflatable terrestrial globe drawn by Adolphe Desmadryl (qv). He suggested the making of a globe ærophyse' of 4ft diameter in parchment (1).
