Biographie
An optician, Briand was the Nantes agent for chronometers by Auguste Louis Berthoud in Argenteuil, the great-nephew of Louis Berthoud. According to his letter hrad he rated and repaired chronometers, manufactured compass and ship lanterns, supplied sextants, octants and telescope. by Parisian makers, and also sold binoculars, compass binnacles, and precision timepieces in gold and silver. a 1
