Biographie
-
A clock-maker, apprenticed 2 December 1772 to Nicolas Pierre Delunesy, Lemaire was attached in 1792 to the new manufcature at Besançon, but soon returned to Paris. In 1796 he opened, with government support, a clock manufactory in Versailles, but this failed and was closed in 1801. A planetarium built between 1786 and 1788 by him is known, and another may be attributed to him.1
