Biographie
The son of a carpenter of the same name, Choizy was working from at least 1649, the year in which he married Véronique Dutartre. Their daughter Marie Anne died between 1672 and 1682. Michael Butterfield was apprenticed to him in 1665, and subsequently in the decade of the 1670s he received his nephews Pierre Sautout, François Sautout, and Gabriel Sautout. On 2 September 1671 he was paid for work on several mathematical instruments in the King's Library (1). He was succeeded by his nephew Pierre who signed as 'Sautout-Choizy.
