Opticians specialised in binoculars - 'Jumelles Flammarion'. The firm was successor to Ch. Veissière in 1882, Courvoisier in 1889 and Maugey in 1892. It eventually combined with L. Huet to form the Société Générale d'Optique (qv). Astrnomical objective lenses made by the firm were marked simply 'A L'.1
