Biographie
The late born son of Lous Clément Breguet, Antoine Breuet was trained in the Ecole Polytechnique (1872-74), before entering the family business. Highly inventive, he developed the dial telegraph, dynamos, Gramme's machine and worked on telephony. Besides teaching at the Sorbonne and the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes, Breguet was charged with the technical organisation of the first International Exhibition of Electricity in 1881. The exertions that he made to ensure the success of the exhibition however were too much for a frail health (he suffered from advanced arterial rheumatism, and he died at the early age of 31.
