Biographie
-
An optician, nephew of Oberhäuser, with whom he whom he was in partnership from 1854 and whom he succeeded in 1864. In 1870, doubtless as a consequence of the Franco-Prusian war, he moved to Berlin before setting up a factory in Potsdam. A number of microscopes signed by them are known. During this period the business in Paris was continued by Przmowski who subsequently joined Hartnack' in oartnership. During this period Hartnack devised a circular glass cutter for preparing microscope slides, and his Paris factory employed forty workmen (2).Continued by Prazmowski alone after 1870, in 1881 the business was purchased by two of the shop foremen Bézu and Hausser. In 1896 however the company was absorbed by Nachet (1)
