Biographie
A member of the Founders' Corporation, although no details of his career within it are known (1), with the Royal Clockmaker Jérôme Martinot, Haye built a mechanised armillary planetarium presented to Louis XIV in February 1701 (2). He is chiefly known for his sun-dials of which several have survived and for sectors (3). A magnificently written manuscript version of his treatise on the former is dedicated to the Duc de Bourgogne and there is another manuscript by him in the Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris.
