Notes biographiques
-
1. Linton Collection N° 93. The cataloguer of this piece attributes a date of c. 1680 to it and suggests that 'Rather than regard Renard as an Occitan instrument maker, he should perhaps be considered a commercial agent of the Parisian instrument-maker Pierre Sevin', before indicating stylistic similarities between the instrument described and those signed from the Sevin workshop, and with the type-faces designed by Granjon for the Imprimerie Royale.
12. Tessier & Sarrou, 9 December 2024, lot 96.
