Business formed by Emile Richer and two of his father's apprentices, Guyard and Canary, and to which Guyard, Canary & Cie would be the successors. Specialised in geodetic instruments, they made some of the instruments used for the elaboration of the Carte de l'état majeur , and in 1857 the first tacheometers devised by Moinot in development of the ideas of Porro.
