Biographie
A member of the Founders' Company, from about 1682 and Ingénieur du Roi. He was the nephew of Jean Choisy (qv) who brought him, with his brothers Gabriel and François, to Paris where all three became instrument-makers in the Founders' Corporation. On Choisy's death in August 1682 Pierre, who was his principal legatee, added his name to his own (1). His nephew, Jean Queyrat, was apprenticed to him in 1706 (2).. It is likely to be Pierre who signed a Butterfield-type dial as 'Sautout l'ainé' (3).
