- A Carthusian canon, Jacques Moraine was also responsible for the making of some horizontal dials. Two of these, dated 1643 and 1650 are in brass1; a third2, dated 1658, is in pewter probably originally silvered. Aunsigned slate dial dated 1630 has been ascribed to him.3
