Biographie
-
Primarily an optician, Deleuil founded his business in 1820 and retailed the whole range of mathematical instruments and philosophical apparatus. At the 1827 exhibition he showed chemical and surgical apparatus, following this in 1834 with physics apparatus, and a system for extracting gelatine from bones.. By then his weights and balances were already in use in the Paris mint, and a high precision( balance of his constrfuction was exhibited by Savart to the Académie of Science in 1839 subsequently being used y Dumas and Rfegnault in their work on the density of gases and vapours (1).
