Biographie
This was an association of some 17 craftsmen established in An II (1794/5) with government backing to supply the large quantities of metric rules required for government departments and schools. Initiative for setting up the group came from the craftsmen themselves, the government supplying them with a house confiscated from the Émigré Bonneval and financial support (1).
The members of the association were
Nicolas Eloi Baradelle, Pierre Bernier, Laurent Vilbas Boulet,
Bernard Caillot, Léon Louis Cheron, Jacques Cornu,
Jean Louis Dauphine, Louis Pierre Antoine Dubois, Pierre Dupré,
Jean Baptiste Louis Antoine Ferrat, Charles Louis d’Hotel, Antoine Lugne,
Jean Louis Martin, François Menant, August Michel Perlin,
Pierre François Perron, Louis Etienne Sachot, Jacques Nicolas Surcou,
Rose Gaspard Vinçard (2).
